We don't need a new science of consciousness unless it has superior explanatory power to Darwinian evolutionary psychology. Right now, Darwinian evolutionary psychology is by far the frontrunner in the science of consciousness. Unfortunately because of widespread deceptive framing that there is no existing science of consciousness, this topic made it into my book

I hope that the response to all of these new sciences of consciousness is the scientific community clearly saying, no thank you, we already have a much better explanation in Darwinian evolutionary psychology.
